Our Belize Style Tamales are tasty larger than the Mexican Versions. We take slow cooked shoulder Pork and mix it with our Belize Spice mix and Recado. We then make up a mix of Masa Harina, Lard and stock to form the Masa. We take about half the Masa and mix it in to the cooking juices from the Pork to make the Cull. We then take a Banana Leaf some Foil and build the Tamale, wrap it and then steam for about 90 minutes. When cooled we Vacuum seal them to retain the freshness.
The process of making Tamales is lengthy but worth the effort so if you are a Belizean and crave Tamales why not try ours.
